Secure Eraser is meant to protect your privacy. For this purpose, it can delete the traces you leave behind while working with your computer, including files, folders and even complete partitions.
Although the application’s simple interface suggests that working with it is a “piece of cake”, you should be aware that you are dealing with a very powerful tool and that any mistake can put your files in a beyond-recovery status. This is due to the program’s strong deletion algorithms. Moreover, it lets you select which of these algorithms you would prefer to use. Regarding this, the program not only erases existing data but also secures free space by overwriting old data with gibberish information.
Another useful feature is that you can create deletion profiles to automate some procedures you may need to perform once in a while. Besides, the program keeps a journal for you to have an account of all operations.
To sum up, Secure Eraser is a powerful tool that can contribute significantly to your privacy. Fortunately, the standard edition is free and provides all the functions of the paid editions, except that it shows occasional messages. So, this is a good chance to try it.

I had a folder, not related to any program or installation that I made myself. It wouldn't delete for anything; kept telling me the folder didn't exist in its location. I could put things into it, rename it, but not delete it. I tried software that granted administrative rights, software that unlocks files, ran CCleaner, Defragged, ran Microsoft Fix Its, ran SFC /ScanNow, tried rebooting, other invalid file deletion software wouldn't touch it because they don't delete folders, but Secure Eraser got rid of it.
